Character(s) Appearing: Retsu, Akkei, others? Time: Midday Previous Thread: N/A NPC(s): Stall guy Summary: A day in the life of a cloud shinobi
Kuroko Retsu walked through the streets quietly, trying not to bring attention to himself. He had gotten some time for himself this day and he walked through the streets of kumogakure watching the people and looking at stuff in stalls along the streets. There wasn't really anything interesting to buy but Retsu didn't want to go back home just yet. His father was home and he hadn't been in the greatest of moods when Retsu had left not that long ago. He continued on and hoped that his father's mood would lighten by the time he got back home though he did seriously doubt it.
Finally something caught Retsu's eye. It was a small dagger hanging down from one of the racks in a tiny, dark shop near the end of the road. The sun glimmered off of the large jewel in the hilt. It was a beautiful dagger and something made Retsu want to get it. He didn't know why, or who would use it. He couldn't use the dagger. He had only learned how to use senbon needles. His father used senbon as well. He didn't know anyone who would use it. It sure was a nice dagger though.
Just as Retsu was about to turn around and make his way back through the streets the man in charge of the stall noticed Retsu looking at the dagger. He heckled Retsu, asking if he wanted to buy it, offering to lower the price for the young genin. The boy was getting tired of this man's bargains and empty words. Anything to get a sale.... thought Retsu. He wanted more than anything to tell the man where to shove it but the words wouldn't come out. The words never seemed to come out when he needed them. He stood there looking at the man bitterly with nothing to say.

Akkei was watching Retsu with interest. The boy was the heir to the Kuroko clan. He didn't know why, but the single leader clan model that used a main family blood to designate future leaders interested him. It honestly made no sense logically. An elected council of only the very best was far superior. Still. This model did interest him.
From what he could tell, Retsu didn't seem to like being home. Afterall you must not like your alternative if you found yourself going down this street. And then he entered, that shop. Old Mundagus' place. Probably the seediest place in all of the land of lightning, certainly the worst in Kumogakure. He entered the store silently behind the boy and watched the proceedings. As usual the shop keep was trying to swindle. The boy seemed uninterested but couldn't say anything. He was a lot meeker than most clan heads he's seen.
"Trying to Swindle the oblivious again Mundagus." Akkei said revealing himself from the shadows. Despite being 27 his boyish figure made him seem much younger. Though this was offset by his height. His gaze fell on Retsu, their eyes locking. As he saw the green aura, Akkie's gray eyes turned green to match it but as soon as he looked away it was no longer green. He Picked up the Dagger off the hook it hung upon for display, the blade pressed against the shop front window for a moment, and as soon as it did, the Dagger snapped in two. "Don't try to swindle one of my junors again, or This Daggar shall be you, shall we leave Kuroko-san?"

((hope you don't mind me joining in))
The girl walked through the streets of Kumogakure, her mind trailing as she wondered what she'd actually do with the rest of her day. After training, Jun wasn't too sure what to do? Going home wasn't much of an option, it wasn't as if anyone was there. She considered going to the academy, but what was the point in that? As a Genin, he no longer needed to be there at all. Of course, she was still a Genin without a Squad leader or a squad.
Pushing her glasses up the surface of her nose, Jun found herself drawn towards Mundagus's stand and the small display at its front. As two people seemed to be talking to the owner, one of them took a dagger and broke it in two. To have done something so easily meant that either the weapon was a joke or the person was extremely strong. Either was possible, but Jun didn't want to try and figure out which it was.
Thus the reason why I don't shop at Mundagus's shop...

((go right ahead))
Retsu heard a man's voice behind him. He turned quickly to see a man there. He didn't look that much older but his height told Retsu he was. The man took the knife away from the shopkeeper and broke it in two. It seemed like a waste but it also showed how cheap it really was. "Shall we leave Kuroko-san?" the man asked. Kuroko nodded slowly.
It wasn't really that surprising for someone to know Retsu but it did catch him off guard. He wanted to know who this man was and what he was doing. He had come out of no where and helped Retsu when he needed it and Retsu didn't even know his name. He walked out of the stall in shock. When he looked around there were already people looking. He hadn't meant to cause a scene, his father wouldn't want that.
One girl in the crowd caught Retsu's eye. Ito Jun. They had gone to the academy together and had just graduated. She was being quiet as usual. Neither of them had really talked to each other, just a smile down the halls here or there. It didn't help that both were quiet. Again Retsu gave her that shy smile as he passed her. Then he turned his attention back to the man in black.
"Wh-who are you?" Retsu asked quietly. He wasn't sure if he could be heard over the crowd but it was as loud as he would go.

Akkei's eyes were constantly changing colors as he gazed at the crowd of people. He was lost in thought. Glad to have helped the boy deal with the situation. He seemed to be good hearted, just very meek. Akkei smiled, he had a feeling this boy would be assigned to his team. Provided he could pass whatever Test Akkei came up with he was excited to see this boy develop.
He noticed Retsu's eyes fall upon a girl in the crowd. She wore glasses and had 3 swords holstered on her. It was quite a sight to be perfectly honest. He wondered if the boy was simply acknowledging her as a fellow classmate or perhaps some form of romantic interest? Perhaps some light teasing of the boy was in order later.
"My name is Chuuritsu Akkei, a council member of my clan and a Kumogakure jounin." He smirked. And decided to do a slight ribbing. "Friend of yours?" he asked gesturing to the girl with his shoulder.

As the duo passed her, Jun could finally see their faces. Of course, she was surprised to see it was Retsu. But who was this other person with him? He was a lot older, yet she didn't recognize him as a teacher? Was he related to Retsu? It was possible, she didn't know him that well, other than the fact that they had graduated in the same class.
Smiling back as they walked by, the young girl turned her head to watch them move further into the crowd, finding herself actually curious as to what was going on. It wasn't any of her concern, but still....who was this guy? Sighing, Jun began to make her way behind them, doing her best to stay hidden.
So this is what a stalker does.....Interesting....

"My name is Chuuritsu Akkei, a council member of my clan and a Kumogakure jounin." the man answered.
Retsu just nodded his head. That didn't really explain why this guy wanted to help Retsu but he would go along with it for now. It seemed like he was pretty important, since he was on the council for his clan. Retsu thought he probably should have been more polite to the man, shown more courtesy. His father would have scolded him. Retsu winced quickly at the thought of his father.
"Why did you help me, Akkei-san?" Retsu asked.
He hadn't even asked for help. His thoughts and listening to the older man took up Retsu's attention so he didn't notice the girl following behind them silently.

Akkei thought for a moment, putting a hand to his chin and gazing off into the distance as they walked down the street. Why did I help the boy? zipped through his head. That was such a silly question. Another man may have thought it deserved an equally silly answer, not Akkei though. He smirked at the boy and simply tapped Retsu's forehead protector. "Didn't they tell you what this meant in the academy Kuroko-san?" he asked simply.
In his mind Akkei pouted. The boy had ignored his ribbing in regards to the female gennin following them.It was always a pleasure for him to tease the young about social interactions between opposite genders. A mean hobby of his perhaps but nonetheless some thing that he overly enjoyed. He let his mind drift now from one child to the other. For a moment it stopped on him wondering if these two children would be gennins assigned to him to join his squad.
Akkei's eyes turned to Ito Jun. His eyes turned a brownish color. Doton huh? he thought as the watched her stalking the boy and himself. He decided to add her to his now growing entourage of young children. He decided not to dwell on the implications of that too much instead wondering how to call Ito to their group. He contemplated various different approaches before finally coming to a simple method, most likely an effective method though.
"Ito-san. Come out of hiding. Perhaps you can tell your comrade what this means." He began tapping his own forehead protector. "I've even given you a hint. The answer shouldn't be hard for you." His question was simple the answer was simple to. Well, let's see if the village children truly understand the purpose of the 4-man squad. Akkei contemplated staring at the girl attempting to hide in the crowd.

Gasping in surprise, Jun stumbled backwards as she realized that she had been found out. How long had he known that she was following them? The girl had thought that she was so well hidden. Either she hadn't been as stealthy as she thought, or this man was of skill than she realized. Not only that, but how did he know her name? As she approached slowly, eyes averted to the ground, the girl finally looked up and realized who this person was.
"Oh sir.....well.......It means the symbol of our village....isn't it?"
Rubbing the back of her head with her hand, she grinned sheepishly as she wasn't too sure if she was right. After all, Jun never really thought too much about the symbol, only that it looked like a cloud.

Retsu continued walking along, he couldn't help but feel like someone was watching him but he ignored it. He focused on the man beside him and realized he had asked a question.
"Didn't they tell you what this meant in the academy Kuroko-san?" he asked.
Retsu thought about it for a minute but didn't say anything. He didn't usually answer questions in class, even if he knew the answer. He prefered to stay quiet so no one could point out his wrong answer. He decided to do that here too.
Akkei called Ito out and she joined them meekly. He had been right. Someone was following them. It wasn't anything to worry about though. Ito was a friend and ally.
Akkei then asked Ito the same question he had asked Retsu. Ito answered that it symbolized the village. Retsu thought it was probably pretty close. She was thinking about what the symbol on the headband was, but the headband itself was a symbol. It symbolized being a guardian of the country and the people within. Retsu stayed quiet.

Akkei's mind began to wander. Ito really didn't seem to get the point. Perhaps she had trouble seeing the deeper meanings to things. Was she a simple girl or not? He really couldn't tell to be honest. There wasn't enough data to gather right now. She was a quiet one. Not as quiet as this Retsu boy. But still silent, but it didn't seem like she was a thinker. Perhaps she just wasn't showing it very well. The girl was interesting. He wondered if she would be on the genin team the Raikage would assign him?
His mind wandered to the boy. Equally interesting. He was quite and meek. He was a clan heir though. This was nothing like the personality he was used to associating with such things. Usually there was a fair deal of smugness about them. What was this kid's home life like? Right. A thought suddenly flashed into his mind. There was a girl from his family a little while ago. She was found dead in the mountains. Perhaps the truth of that matter has brought the boy into some deep depression. He wasn't sure to be honest. It was a highly likely possibility though. He would have to inspect this a bit further.
So much he had to inspect. Including the time. He Pulled out a pocket watch and looked at the time. He had a meeting soon with the Raikage for the express purpose of being assigned a team. He smiled. Maybe this long day would have some positive outcomes. Looking at the two he simply said, "Hmm. I' may yet ask this again. Until next time young ones." walking away slowly at first and then with a slight flicker he was gone.

It was an odd way to leave a conversation, especially since he didn't confirm whether or not she was correct or not. Though perhaps, his leave was enough to say that she was wrong. But then, what could he had possibly meant? Was there some deeper meaning that Jun neglected to recognize? Either way, the girl wouldn't be able to find the answer right now.
"That was....interesting...."
Looking back towards Retsu with a blank expression, she slowly pushed her glasses up from her nose once more before placing her hands behind her back.
